WCC’s News Blog

Parliament of Owls

Finally, the moment you have been desperately waiting for is here. The Horizon has a blog that it can call home. I am pleased to announce that we will be offering much more than just the news. This blog is intended to be the destruction derby of news media, journalism, and higher education, but it is also a way for journalists, photographers and their ilk to connect. We will also offer behind the scenes war stories from our newsroom and staff anecdotes.

If you don’t know already, we are a student run newspaper that serves Whatcom Community College, Whatcom County, Washington State and the world at large. That said, we are here to serve YOU.

Blog mission statement: Inform the public of journalism related shenanigans. If you don’t know already, shenanity is at an all time high. It’s our job to expose it.

Coming soon: A trip to Pacific Lutheran University: Inside the Society of Professional Journalists; a brand new editor; designing a news paper; the facts of life.

Yours Truly,

Quinn Welsch
